Creative Crafting Get-Together ~ Ribbon Sunflowers!
Apr 20 @ 5:00 pm
After tying circles of green and yellow ribbons, the finished sunflower turns out about 3 inches across, and would make a perfect gift topper, brooch or magnet.
Sunflowers are a traditional symbol of summer of happiness and of the Ukraine. There are a lot of reasons to make yourself or someone you love a ribbon sunflower.
All craft supplies will be provided free of charge but supplies are sometimes limited. (The library has to pre-order to avoid supply chain issues!) Please call 315-369-6008 or e-mail oldforge@midyork.org to reserve a spot for each craft.  Although each craft project is family friendly children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult to help with hot glue guns and other potentially tricky steps.

Creative Crafting Get – Togethers ~ Magnetic Poetry Tin Boxes
Apr 27 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

The craft of the week is Magnetic Poetry tins. In honor of April being National Poetry Month, every participant will have the opportunity to make and decorate their own magnetic poetry kit.
Magnetic Poetry is a toy and creative writing aid consisting of individual words printed on small magnets which can be creatively arranged into poetry on a refrigerator or other metal surface. The library staff will pre-print the words onto a sheet of magnetic printer paper, and participants will cut their words, add vocabulary to blank pieces, and decorate a small metal tin to hold them in. Fun for lockers at school, the fridge at home or as a game for the car, this project will be rewarding to anyone who can have fun with words.
